![]() Scaling at max upgrade: B in str, D in dex Personally, i prefer the moveset of the blacksteel, since the r2s can be aimed pretty wall after pressing the button, and the delay is pretty good for baiting people in to the swing. The blacksteel’s twohanded r2 is an even slower slash from the sheath into another stab. The uchi’s twohanded r2 is a right to left slash, into a slash similar to the blacksteel’s onehanded r2. The blacksteel’s 1h r2 is a slow horizontal slash where the weapon is drawn from the sheath, into a stab. The uchi’s 1h r2 is a stab followed by a slash, much like the 2nd r1 of the uchi. The only difference in their moveset is their r2s. The only really noteable difference between the two besides the moveset is their weight, with the blacksteel weighing 3 units more than the uchi. On my 40/40 build, the uchi had an AR that was only higher by 3 points, and if dex is levelled beyond 40, the blacksteel will most likely surpass it eventually, but not by very much. My opinion: Much like iaito vs uchigatana in dark souls 1, it comes down to what moveset you prefer. Scaling at max upgrade: E in str, A in dex Notes: has a cooler looking model that was temporarily available from the majula chest Try them both out and see which one fits best for you and your build. Overall, it just comes down to which moveset you prefer. The gyrm greathammers moveset isnt very different, but it’s enough to make many people (including me) prefer it. ![]() It will always hit lower than the other two due to the lower base and same scaling. It has a 10 less str requirement, 20 less base damage and a slightly different moveset. The gyrm great hammer also has the same scaling, getting +147 at 50 str, the only difference with it, is its moveset, base damage and requirements. While it’s very rare, of the two, the drakekeeper’s great hammer is the smarter choice. The base damage is the same, and the scaling is the same. The only difference between them is the drakekeeper’s has 2 higher dex requirement, but weighs 6 units less. Maybe you put the / between them in the ask because you knew this but i figure i should cover it anyways. My opinion: It honestly comes down to which moveset you prefer, the drakeeper / demon, or the gyrm greathammer.įor starters, the demons great hammer and drakekeeper’s great hammer are almost identical. I think the fume ultragreatsword is my favorite ultragreatsword, if not my favorite weapon in dark souls 2 entirely due to its very unique moveset, though the kings ultra is great for the pure power it has. On top of all that, the king’s ultra can also be buffed, while the fume ultra cannot. The fume ultra’s low dex scaling doesn’t even make much of a difference, with 10 extra points in dex only increasing the AR by 5 points. At 50 str and 30 dex, the minimum required to use both weapons, the kings ultra has an AR of 646, whereas the fume ultra is only at 608. The only upside i can see to the kings ultra is the damage. Spamming that is a poor idea, as it CAN be guard broken, which leaves you in a bad spot. This is one of the most unique attacks in the game in my opinion, as it allows you to block and attack without the use of the shield. The fume ultra’s 1h r2 and twohanded parry are replaced by an attack where you block, then quickly preform an overhead chop. The main difference in its moveset is that it has the twohanded r2 of the zweihander, being a slow stab into an around the body swing, and the special attack. The fume ultra has a similar moveset to the Pursuer’s ultra greatsword, with the onehanded r1 that is an overhead chop into a wide horizontal sweep, which is very good for baiting people. Kings ultra just feels like a bulky, though hard hitting greataxe. My opinion: I absolutely LOVE the fume ultra, it’s easily my favorite ultragreatsword. Notes: Deals increased durability damage compared to other weapons. Scaling at max upgrade: S in str, E in dex ![]() This attack can block damage, and CAN be guard broken. Onehanded r2 and twohanded parry replaced with a guard into an overhead chop. Notes: Made from the soul of the Fume Knight. Scaling at max upgrade: S in str, D in dex
